Drawing on its combination of expertise and experience, Smania captures every desire of those who furnish for the contract sector and transforms them into an icon of architectural, artisan and artistic style. From a historic hotel in the heart of Venice to a futuristic hotel in the Middle East, an executive office in Russia or Saudi Arabia, an exclusive extra-luxury yacht that only follows the rhythms of the ocean and apartments in the centre of Milan and the main metropolises: Smania leaves its unmistakable creative mark in the luxury contract furniture world.

Every piece for the contract sector made by Smania conveys pure harmony between form and substance: to fully express every interior, balanced lines blend with the most precious, bold materials. Wood, fabric, leather, metal, marble and precious stones: every chosen element is the result of meticulous studies and research and aims to create an essence defined by its high-quality and craftsmanship.

Creative DNA is also the driving force behind the various stages of projects created by those who use luxury furniture for the contract sector: from the initial stages, Smania listens to every need and helps customers to imagine geometries and proportions, to the operational stages involving the formation of a work plan and the creation of a product that concretely expresses the feelings experienced by those who choose it. Designing, cutting, sewing and shaping luxury furniture is the goal that Smania pursues every day, working with commitment, energy and passion to realise every dream and to follow it on its journey as a global ambassador of luxury and elegance.

Smania believes that a luxury office space should be airy, relaxing and welcoming, with custom-made pieces in both classic and modern styles all around. There’s no doubt that desks play a vital role, representing as they do the centre of each individual workspace. Given their importance, desks must be perfect in every way. Metropolis and Lock are perfect examples of this. The former’s solid design and warm tones contrast with the latter’s fluid shaping and cooler colours, yet both share a soft leather covering and structure made from the finest wood. One of the stand-out features is the stunning designs created through the quartering, which showcases the mastery of Smania’s expert woodworkers.

As we’ve already said, we believe luxury offices should be a combination of elegance, practicality and comfort – especially for the people that actually have to work there. Ticking all of these boxes is the adjustable Gramercy Low office chair, whose ergonomic design and soft, padded seat make it a triumph of comfort and finesse. Another fundamental element for any luxurious workspace is the bookcase, which again needs to serve a purpose in terms of both practicality and aesthetics. In this case, the Lowell 145 bookcase has all the answers. With four shelves and closed compartment with lift-up door made from matte rosewood or matte tobacco, Lowell 145 provides the perfect setting for your best books and decorative objects.

On a conceptual level, luxury offices are no longer linked to the stereotypes of formality, static decision and standardisation. Comfort and practicality are growing in importance as we look to make our workspaces more unique and welcoming. Smania makes this possible through its unparalleled attention to detail and the option it offers clients to customise its range of office furniture according to their own taste.

Smania stars at these events with a charming offering that best expresses its natural affinity for exclusive, refined design. An icon of all-Italian luxury, Smania has always believed that the secret to Italy’s artistic success is its people’s ability to generate intuitive ideas. Even more than quality materials and craftsmanship or a meticulous attention to detail, it is Italy’s eye for beauty that really sets it apart. An approach to life shared by the luxury of a Renaissance residence, the poetical aesthetics of a film by Sorrentino, and the bouquet of a Chianti wine. And of course, the unparalleled creativity of Smania’s offering to the world.

Th forthcoming shows, first in Shanghai, then in Moscow and finally in Milan, offer the opportunity not only to display products, but also to inspire visitors. In every city, Smania recreates a pulsating space that welcomes and engages those who cross its threshold.

At Moscow’s Crocus, held from 10 to 13 October (Hall 08 D15), the Italian company will exhibit a selection of its high class furnishings in spaces that recreate and evoke the sophisticated mood of a luxurious office starring a LOCK in grey leather upholstery, enhanced by the colour contrast of the compartment in deep grained rosewood. In another part of the stand, featuring a sleeping area marked by great comfort and elegance, the sumptuously enveloping GRAND SOHO bed is framed by the aesthetic and material balance of the GALLIANO  console table, which in turn is counterbalanced, on the opposite wall, by the austere yet vibrant personality of the CONTINENTAL chest of drawers in wenge and black steel.

The sleeping area will also be showcased in November at the Salone del Mobile held in Shanghai (Hall West WS31 No. 1 ,Second Floor), where visitors will be won over by the majestic delicacy of the paddings of the PARIS and CAESAR beds. Ample space will also be dedicated to the living area, with rosewood and burnished steel blending together for the large PAUL table, which dominates the room while maintaining an intrinsic lightness of design. Particularly striking is the top in Calacatta marble of the sinuously round DEAN table, which combines three different materials – marble, steel and leather – to grant a unique touch to any room.

Finally, at the 2019 Salone del Mobile in Milan, Smania will present a striking new project designed to enrich a new area of the house with the company’s high class furnishings.

From the dining room that is combined with the kitchen, passing through the living area to the bedroom, the Smania designed accessories have embellished, with their elegant touch of class, every room and complement of the modern interior furnishing of the Ferretti 780 yacht. The black table with glass top of the dining room is highlighted with the sparkling reflections of the finish created in 24 carat gold by MILO, the low ceramic vase with rounded, sinuous shapes that recall the lines of classical architecture. MILO is also present in a set of three vases, with different sizes and lengths, used to light the corner of the living room. As in all of Ferretti’s luxury yachts, this area of the Ferretti 780 model, with minimal but, at the same time, welcoming spaces, has a decidedly modern style thanks to the ANEOMONE and IRIS ornaments. Two decorative objects, with fluid, original shapes, in which all the experience in the ancient Veneto art of glass working of Smania’s artisans is enclosed. DAFNE, on the other hand, the glass vase in the pure shape of a droplet, is perfect to bestow that extra touch of sophistication to wooden furniture.

And the kitchen? To tastefully furnish this area of the Ferretti 780 yacht, Smania inserted the indispensable accessories for the modern interior furnishing with sophisticated design. An example? The JERSEY white ceramic table mat, unmistakable with its Jersey motif from which it takes its name, created from the crossing of sinuous lines made in a gilded finish. For use as a decorative object for the table or kitchen furniture, this table mat perfectly accompanies the set of six MEDUSA glasses, highly original with decorations in fused amber. Both these objects are perfect to astound guests and give a touch of sophistication to parties or dinners with friends aboard the luxury yachts. The Smania name also appears in the bedroom with two very beautiful AMBRA vases in shades of brown. The Ferretti 780 yacht is therefore a demonstration of how any environment can acquire a strong personality and be the utmost expression of luxury, thanks to the style and care for the details that Smania also puts into the creation of accessories for the modern interior furnishing of luxury boats.

Miami is an article of furniture that never tires and always brings a touch of freshness to the living zone thanks to the striking intense blue colour of the velvet: a hue that can create different emotions depending on the lighting. But Miami is more than this because, in its details, it encapsulates all the passion and artisan skill that Smania invests in the creation of its prestigious furniture. It is the details that make Miami a masterpiece among luxury armchairs: the armrests and backrest are embellished with the dynamism of the Jersey quilting, a decoration of soft, crossed lines inspired by the weft of fabrics with oriental charm.

Miami’s sophisticated aesthetic is completed by its total comfort. The armchair is padded with differentiated densities, which gives a sensation of extreme lightness when sitting down. Its soft, comfortable seat truly pampers the body and the spirit. As with all Smania’s luxury furniture, Miama can be personalised to taste, changing the colour and type of covering. This freedom to express creativity and personality is the essence of MyMood, the concept that Smania devised for those who wish to furnish the spaces and rooms of a home with elegant articles of furniture that are, at the same time, unique of their kind.

The brains behind Smania’s outdoor furniture is Alessandro La Spada, who took his inspiration from the colours and essences of nature, combining them with sinuous and simple geometries. These details are supplemented by the elegant, expertly-processed fine materials. One example is the polyester webbing used to create weaves and light effects on the backrests of the Delos chairs, the Samos sofas and armchair, the Hydra armchair and the Evia chaise longue. The geometrical forms, the teak essence and the shades of the surfaces are the standout features of the dining tables and outdoor tables. The Capri table is enlivened with refined touches of the Nero Assoluto granite colours and Skiathos is illuminated by the glass top available in the Bronzo, Carob and Notte finishes.

Smania’s outdoor furniture is completed with the Chios and Marrakesh floor and pendant lamps, and the alluring Cachepot and Cook series of vases with their clean designs: decorative elements that warm the atmosphere and embellish the summer panorama. Smania’s total outdoor look includes light and pure white shades that match perfectly with the natural grain of the wood and the shininess of the metals. This outdoor furniture is eye-catching and luxurious and reflects the style of the company: a refined aesthetic language, elegant and stylish, unaffected by the passing of time.
