“China represents a market of great development potential for us, with a clientele ever more interested in the exclusivity of our collections and our Italian luxury furniture – comments Giuliano Pastorino, Commercial Director of Smania. The Chinese market is in strong growth, it has demonstrated that it is able to appreciate Italian quality and represents a great opportunity for us to develop and consolidate our trade relations. We are currently present on the territory with widespread distribution in various important cities such as Nanjing, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Taiwan and Xiamen. Among the main distributors I can cite Hengban Furniture Technology Company Limited in Shanghai, Ningbo Yinzhou Keka Trading in Ningbo and Xiamen Casabella Co in Xiamen, with whom we have developed consolidated and continuous relationships. We also work very well with a network of local architects, located in various parts of China and we are con working toward establishing good distribution coverage in other cities such as Changzhou, Chengdu, Foshan, Hunan and Wux.
In 2018 we obtained 20% growth compared to the previous year and together with Russia, China has become our main market.
In this perspective we have decided to invest even more in this country, which is giving us great satisfaction, with interventions directed both at the commercial network and communication.
We have developed a version of our website in Chinese and we intend upon augmenting our presence on the local social networks – among them WeChat – in order to ensure constant and more immediate contact with the public.”
The Salone del Mobile of Shanghai has also this year proven to be an important showcase for creating an increasingly solid connection between the Italian and Chinese cultures, both of them rich in history and experience, sharing the desire to tell the story of the quality, originality and creativity of the luxury furnishings of the Smania brand.
