Smania elegance welcomed actors and directors to the Venice film festival.
In the enchanting setting of the conservatories of the C.I.G.A. Hotels, the Venice Movie Stars Lounge opend its doors from 30 August to 9 September. The Lounge was the focus for the official press coverage of the event: an exceptional example of the audacious beauty of Smania furniture.
This picturesque context is part of a project of the Compagnia Italiana dei Grandi Alberghi (Major Italian Hotels Company), founded by Count Volpi of Misurata. It was Count Volpi who staged the first edition of the film festival in 1932. A reminder of places with a wealth of stories to tell, masterfully represented by those artisan details that are the hallmark of all Smania’s creations.
A showcase of prestigious articles, the Lounge will play host to the big screen personalities competing for the Golden Lion who will be enveloped in expressions of deep-rooted quality, the outcome of the pleasure of creating.
In the Lounge, during the 74th Venice International Film Festival, the spotlight was on the Contrast Collection, with its eclectic taste and a contamination of styles for products of unmistakable allure. Upholstered articles were much to the fore, from the Derby sofas and armchairs to the Claire sofa and the Dyor line.
A play of perspective subverts the traditional use of materials in the search for unequalled harmony in the Lock table, while the balanced mix of classical spirit and modern character is displayed in the Amal armchairs.
For the occasion, the Rodrigo console table takes a cameo role: a distinctive aesthetic from the interplay between solids and voids, intensified by the choice of uniform materials.
The partnership with Venice Movie Stars Lounge at Venice Film Festival 2017 demonstrates the company’s support for the cultural sector through innate Made in Italy design. A combination of forces that, like the fusion of different materials that is typical of Smania furniture, produces a fascinating je ne sais quoi.
