Also this year animated by great enthusiasm, SMANIA is proud to represent the excellence of Made in Italy in the xLux Hall, dedicated to timeless luxury. Elegance, style, bold beauty, exclusivity, tailoring: the luxury of SMANIA products knows no boundaries. Behind this result there is an enviable know-how and a profound culture of craftsmanship, which has its roots in the history of a territory that has handed down its manufacturing secrets from generation to generation. There is strong creative DNA that drives the company toward always exploring new paths, finding new balances, languages and eclectic designs, to which can be added a search for perfection at all levels, from the design stage to the realisation of every single detail. The most modern among the classics, the most classic among the moderns: the atmospheres created by SMANIA are unique and embrace the entire house, thanks to its total look proposal, which never ceases to expand and enrich itself. There are many new proposals that SMANIA brings to Milan this year, the protagonists of an eye-catching arrangement: a vast panorama of new products dedicated to those who seek to surround themselves with objects that are precious, refined, highly customisable in their materials and finishes, to impeccably interpret each person’s tastes and needs. Next to the new proposals, SMANIA proposes some iconic products born from historical collaborations, symbol of continuity and timeless design.
Smania Nest
SMANIA expands its furnishing proposal by designing an entire collection in collaboration with Giuseppe Viganò / Studio Viganò. Animating Smania Nest is a very dynamic vision of living, which explores the relationship between man and nature. It is a dreamy interpretation of contemporary living, which is expressed through an eclectic and fascinating design, perfectly in line with the classic and modern taste of the brand.
The name itself, Nest, is inspired by the attitudes of the collection, designed to convey, through its warm and enveloping atmospheres, the idea of a luxurious retreat, within which to feel serene, in harmony with oneself and with the outside world. Mankind has always known the importance of nature and the beneficial influence it has on the person, both physically and psychologically. Smania Nest was born as an innovative response to this need, combining originality and versatility. The new collection delineates, with its products and its moods, an unprecedented osmotic balance between interior and exterior, between the desire for freedom and the security of a comfortable shelter. From the apartment in the city to the country villa, from the veranda to the winter garden: these are perfect furnishings for living in the spaces that are dearest to us, without defined limits.
It is a collection designed primarily for the living area and the sleeping area, complete with every element, from lighting to carpets, so as to configure as a total look. Each product is designed and built with sculptural expertise and with special attention given to materials, capable of once again highlighting SMANIA’s valuable heritage of knowledge.
Wood is reconfirmed as a protagonist with sinuous lines and soft finishes, in perfect harmony with other noble materials, such as leather, metals, fabrics and glass, many of them with surprising textures. Stylish combinations, sophisticated solutions, inspired by classic workmanship, such as Viennese Weave, which has entered into the history of design, and today is reinterpreted in a modern key through an original leather weave with a unique design. To characterise the entire collection there is a design with a strong personality, defined by clean lines, essential volumes, construction details of great value and exotic decorative motifs.
The products that make up Smania Nest are: the KILLIAN armchair and sofa, in the double linear and angular version, the ZAREN coffee table, the HARRIET side table, available in the round and low square versions, the FLINT table, round and rectangular, the ANTILLIA armchair, the CASSIDY sideboard, the MERA showcase, the ATLANTIS double bed, the KIDA nightstand and dresser, the AZAR mirror, the PALM and TROPIC carpets, and the SAMSARA series, which includes a screen, floor lamp, table lamp and wall light. The wood essence chosen is ash, available with a honey or dark brown finish or customisable in grey, grey silk, beige, blue, green and burgundy lacquers, the same colours that reappear in the carpets and fabric patterns.
A cosy and comfortable nest, an elegant corner of peace in which to surrender, accompanied by the pleasant sensation of immersion in nature: Smania Nest promises to evoke the same freedom and lightness one feels when in the great outdoors.
The new proposals designed by Ferruccio Laviani
Working with established and talented designers remains a winning formula for SMANIA, which allows it to express its voice and philosophy through new eyes and multiple languages. To interpret the spirit and know-how of the company we now find the renowned architect and designer Ferruccio Laviani.
His proposals revolve around the living area and admirably express the artisan culture of SMANIA and a meticulous attention to detail. Fascinating and elegant, the proposals designed by Ferruccio Laviani are extremely versatile and multipurpose.
The CHARME sofa and armchair perfectly embody the balance between classic and modern that distinguishes SMANIA, recalling, in their structure, the historical “hunting” model. The linear and clean geometries outline a fresh and essential design, while the soft volumes offer a comfortable and enveloping support. The CHARLOTTE sofa, more airy and lighter in configuration, discreetly conceals its structure within attractive cushioning with abundant and elongated volumes. An external border clearly highlights the seams, while the feet stand out for their leather upholstery and details in steel.
The new proposals designed by Rune Ricciardelli
The collaboration with the designer Rune Ricciardelli, who designs three new proposals for SMANIA, dedicated mainly to the office, is renewed and consolidated. Unquestionably dominating the scene is the new FRANK desk, an imposing symbol of power. Supported by a light steel base with squared shapes, the body of the desk consists of a monumental monolith in wood, embellished laterally by a steel insert at the perimeter, available in various finishes. Inside the desktop there is a hidden compartment equipped with electrical sockets and compartments, designed to house the laptop, documents and stationery. Combined with FRANK, the CAREY executive chair contributes to making the office luxurious and comfortable.
Ideal for the central location, but also for the wall, the FLOYD double-sided console expresses the same impressiveness of FRANK, lending itself perfectly to furnishing the office or an environment of representation.
The new proposals created by the SMANIA Design Department
Creative, lively and always engaged in research and experimentation, even the in-house design department has many new proposals to present at the Salone del Mobile of Milan, dedicated to the entire house.
In the dining area we find the eccentric CHAMBOARD dining table, with a marble or rosewood top, supported by an extraordinary painted steel base, combined with the eclectic ELLEN armchair, distinguished by sophisticated leather weaving that laterally embraces the whole seat. The proposal is completed by the KEPLERO ceiling chandelier in velvet-effect painted steel and spherical ampoules in white etched glass.
Coordinated instead to the PAUL table and the GATSBY chairs, is the BRIGITTE console in precious feathered walnut, with steel details and drawer fronts that can be made of precious labradorite. Versatile and inviting, the new ABBY armchair, ideal for any environment, stands out for the play of geometric lines that draw square volumes that are also soft and welcoming.
The KLIZIA bedroom is entirely new, composed of a bed and a swivel armchair, both characterised by the particular helical and enveloping shape of the backrest, entirely hand-upholstered by skilled experts.
Great attention has been paid this year to the office environment, with products designed by Rune Ricciardelli, and completed by the lighting designed by the Smania Design Department. SHUTTLE is an anodised aluminium lamp with silver or gold finish, available in the floor and table version, with adjustable luminous body.
SMANIA’s total look proposal is also enriched with new furnishing accessories and exceptional new marbles, Explosion Blue and Calacatta Cielo.
