Smania furniture and accessories will be on display as part of the exhibition in Milan showcasing the pinnacle of table style, which runs between 25 January and 15 February at Royal Palace.
Smania – the brand that combines the best of classic and modern styles – will be one of the protagonists of the CONVIVIANDO exhibition: “l’arte della tavola tra passato e futuro” [CONVIVIANDO: the art of the table between the past and the future], which will showcase the pinnacle of mise en place and the art of entertaining throughout the centuries. The exhibition will be held in the stunning rooms of the Royal Palace’s Appartamenti del Principe.

The Smania range provides a snapshot of the art of the table, with a range of iconic objects reinterpreted according to more current trends and styles. The result is the daring beauty that characterises all Smania living furnitures and accessories.
The Rodrigo console table, with its linear structure, has a smooth, geometric feel emphasised by the table legs, where right angles alternate with perfect circles to great effect, with the use of hollow and filled sections further accentuated by the contrast between metal and wood. Meanwhile, the Nova table lamp is all about sophistication and elegance, enriching its surroundings with the shading and dark tones of its shiny finish. The exhibition winds its way through the ten rooms that make up the historic Appartamenti del Principe, focusing on ten different arrangements drawn from the various centuries. The displays are inspired by ten Italian and international films which feature convivial moments of particular historic, cultural or social interest. The ten concepts use ideas, sets, colours and symbolism to evoke styles and trends associated with the table through time. The stunning surroundings of the Royal Palace provide a prestigious backdrop for pieces from Smania’s collections, which are located in the room dedicated to the film “A Single Man”. This concept is all about 1960s glamour, striking the perfect balance between elegance and sartorial traditions to reflect the distinctive aesthetics found in every Smania furniture for living room.

The exhibition is promoted and organised by the City of Milan|Culture, the Royal Palace, HOMl and the Salone degli Stili di Vita di Fiera Milano. It is curated by Cinzia Felicetti, the director of Marie Claire Maison Italia, and is open every day, free of charge.

Italian luxury furniture is appreciated all around the world on account of its quality and design. The brand recently opened a new mono-brand store in Kiev’s luxury Domosfera shopping centre, thus increasing the availability of Smania’s classic and modern Italian furniture in Ukraine.

This commercial space is situated in a highly dynamic district which is easy to get to and has good links with the city centre. In addition to furniture showrooms, Domosfera also features home décor, accessories and fashion stores.
Smania’s Italian furniture can be perused in the exhibition space, which is managed in partnership with the Dominio Group, a local organisation that has been operating in the furniture industry for over a decade. Their store features bespoke products including – as well as furniture for all rooms except the bathroom – doors, windows, flooring, stairs and wood panelling. The 900m2 space features Italian-style furnishings in a predominantly modern style.

In order to best show off Smania’s range of Italian furniture in both the classic and modern styles, meanwhile, the partners have created a 150m2 showroom designed to provide a comprehensive snapshot of the Smania style, not least the brand’s love of combining traditional and innovative features.
The exhibition space is home to furniture and accessory pieces from the recent Contrast collection by Alessandro La Spada, which registered great success among the Ukrainian public. Also on show are a range of the most sophisticated products from other collections, which come together with the Contrast pieces to create a truly unique space. The chosen finishes and materials are centred around intense blue and emerald green, while myriad shades of beige and white also feature.

Cloe, Paris and Lock: elegant new furniture unveiled at Saloni Shanghai 2017

Smania’s exclusive display areas at the Saloni Shanghai 2017 were home to three elegant new furniture products from the brand, which has bolstered the Contrast collection unveiled at Milan Furniture Fair last April.

Paris is a complete new arrival. The latest bed by Smania is also the first-ever to feature capitonné detailing. This unique upholstery technique, whose origins date back to the 1800s, is created by hand by artisans drawing on all of their extensive experience to finish the leather to impeccable standards.
The elegance of the Paris bed is ensured by the precision with which the capitonné has been executed. The diamond-pattern decoration – which features a button at each point – lends a timeless charm to the modern, fluid lines of the headboard, which help to soften the austere, British feel of the traditional capitonné.

New to the living room is the Cloe sofa, characterised by its sophisticated, inviting shaping. Horizontal lines adorn the backrest and the external part of the armrests, where they are met by diagonal angles which bring a sense of dynamism to the front of the sofa, resulting in a sophisticated geometrical contrast. In addition to its compact size and bold personality, Cloe is blessed with extreme softness, ensuring a truly relaxing experience.

Smania – a celebration of both modern and classic styles – is back at the second edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai. One of a select few Italian companies taking part, the brand heads to China with the aiming of showcasing the allure, history and value of its intrinsic artisanal culture.

The Smania exhibition space at the I Saloni Shanghai 2017 is split into four rooms, each with its own unique total look brimming with exclusivity and sophistication. At the centre of the display are three new products making their global debuts at the event, where the brand aims to showcase how its furniture channels design and luxury into warm, inviting spaces, striking the perfect balance between elegance and sartorial traditions.

The star of the dining room is the rectangular Lock table with its brand-new Silver Wave marble table top. For the very first time, Smania is experimenting with the use of this stunning material for large surfaces, thus further increasing the scope for customisation with its pieces. The gorgeous veining of the marble, ranging from black to silver, reveals a multitude of subtle nuances that help to underline the beauty of the surrounding room. Meanwhile, the matte quality of the brushed, burnished steel detailing and the warmth of the Florida Beige leather that covers the base create a much-needed sense of contrast. The same finishes are also used for the Lock console table, in matte tobacco-coloured rosewood.
Completing the dining room collection are the Amal chairs in fabric with Jersey quilting, a pattern featuring fluid, oriental-style lines which is also found on the leather drawer fronts of the Jersey sideboard.
Finally, the Harrys bar is a celebration of master craftsmanship. Here, the materials are allowed to express themselves in all their natural beauty, with the expert framing elevating the wood to new levels of sophistication.

A second dining area is home to Dean, a round table perfect for socialising in an elegant and unique setting. Dean, which was unveiled last April in Milan, combines three wonderful materials to stunning effect: wood, whose timeless beauty lends class, leather – the tactile allure of which brings a sense of delicateness to the table – and metal, which illuminates the room with its reflections. Meanwhile, design and elegance meet functionality for the Lazy Susan positioned in the centre of the table, making it possible to share dishes, oriental-style.
Completing the effect are the simple, delicate lines of the Aura chairs, mellow and poetic, which ensure maximum comfort thanks to the soft padding used.

The big new arrival in the Smania living room collection is the Cloe sofa. Horizontal lines are used harmoniously for the backrest, which is split up into simple, geometric blocks. The unique shape of the armrest, which gets wider at the base, brings an unusual dynamism to the leather-clad structure. A bold personality, clean lines, a compact size and generous seat pads make this new model the centre of attention of Smania’s living room at Salone del Mobile Shanghai 2017. The Coral armchair, meanwhile, with its inviting, wrap-around design and curvy lines, is quite simply the embodiment of relaxation.
The Iride collection of side tables is all about the variety of finishes available. The tops are produced in either marble or wood, while the upholstery comes in leather or fabric.
