Soft sculptural features characterise its design while its sophisticated upholstery creates a cradle for long lasting relaxation, just like this “classic” shade par excellence, a timeless passepartout nuance.

“In these hard times, as we approach a new decade, the Pantone Color Institute has gone back in time.” Derby is a nod to the Chesterfield armchair, an indisputable icon of British style. The original quilting and metal details bring a contemporary feel to its contours and identify the chair as a Smania piece. Shiny silhouettes trace Derby’s elegant shapes, further accentuating its soft look.

In modern homes often the bathroom isn’t large enough to include an area that’s suitable for putting on makeup. Therefore positioning a vanity in the bedroom is a solution that solves the problem of small spaces and becomes a precious ally.

Grace is a vanity characterised by timeless elegance that brings a touch of sophistication to an entire room. Practicality and finesse go hand in hand: the delicate and rounded contours of Grace’s design are as sophisticated as its details are functional. There is no lack of space in this vanity: in addition to the drawer, the flip top is designed to hold jewellery and makeup accessories. Finally, the mirror is a chic and essential feature.

Loren is beauty for the sake of beauty, an intelligent solution that satisfies every need, also creating space for the smallest objects. The spacious surface is equipped with a compartment that opens, concealed by an elegant circular cover, a perfect shape that echoes the two mirrors positioned on the surface. Loren’s sophisticated functionality is completed by four swivelling containers of varying dimensions that can store all kinds of objects.

Favourite perfumes, makeup, precious jewels, and hair accessories find their place on Ermete’s minimalist top and in its two drawers. The corner is completed by a leather mirror. The unique feature of this piece is its lateral upholstery in leather or MicroNabuk.

Smania’s vanities represent the synthesis of artisan skill and attention to detail. Choose the one that suits you best, customise the grains and finishes according to your tastes, and insert it in your modern or classic home.

Decorating with style means making the outdoor space liveable and creating an authentic open-air living area where you can spend your days outdoors.

It is essential to include a seating area for relaxation and conversation: the MARATEA sofa and armchairs, made of politech with soft padding and bright aluminum details, are a combination of functionality and aesthetic refinement. They are supported by the CAPRI coffee tables with wooden tops, which combine the cold tones of the structure with the warm shades of teak. The very fine weave of the politech, featuring a sophisticated white motif, is the element that unifies the whole environment and is featured in the geometric design of OCTAGON, the side table with a hammered aluminum top which, in addition to its practical function, also plays an important decorative role.

The part of the terrace used for dining requires the same attention to make entertaining guests a truly pleasurable experience: the round DIOMEDE table features a play of light and shadow between crystal and politech, while the light design of the MADDALENA chairs are a prelude to enjoyable hours spent in company.

One of the most functional furnishing accessories for the terrace is the serving trolley, which allows you to organize the outdoor space and to easily transport everything needed. PROCIDA has space for glasses, plates, bottles and everything that helps to create delightful occasions spent outdoors.

The choice of lights is fundamental for recreating the perfect atmosphere. It is essential to include candles and lanterns with warm lights such as the CASABLANCA floor lamp: exotic charm that illuminates the outdoor environment from sunset onwards.

Finally, a green touch: with their contemporary design, the CACHEPOT outdoor vases lend a graceful elegance to every luxury terrace and are the ideal container for any plant or flower.

All the materials in the Smania Outdoor collection are designed to withstand the elements, season after season. The covers are removable so that they can be easily cleaned.

An important dialogue between aesthetics and functionality: Smania develops products with an artisan DNA, capable of conveying its innate passion for the transformation of raw materials.

The combination of warm and cold elements (wood grains and stone, fabric and metal) is a touch of class which enhances luxurious and sophisticated furniture. It is based upon this premise, and thanks to intense research and experimentation, that the Smania Design Department has brought to life new and vibrant products aimed at bringing luxury into the primary spaces within the home.

The KLIZIA bedroom is an entirely new series, made up of a bed and a swivelling armchair, both characterised by the unique helicoidal and enveloping shape of the headboard and backrest, upholstered entirely by hand by skilled artisans; a product that marks the return of short legs in Smania’s catalogue.

In the dining area, the eccentric CHAMBORD dining table, with either a marble or rosewood top, is supported by an extraordinary metal base, which can also be admired in the Giselle side table, available in shiny or polished matte steel, shiny black nickel, or pink gold.
ELLEN is a small eclectic armchair characterised by an elegant leather weave that embraces the seat and adds the finishing touch to a chair whose harmonious combination of materials (steel, leather, fabric) give it a refined look.

Coordinated with the Paul table and the Gatsby chairs comes the BRIGITTE console, wood with steel details and precious stones for the front of its drawers: Labradorite, Malachite, Tiger’s Eye.

The new ABBY armchair is versatile and inviting. Perfect in any environment, it stands out with its playful combination of classical and modern styles and both soft and hard features. The unique design associates a seemingly inflexible structure with internal softness.

What’s the secret to furnishing a luxury apartment? A large and striking chandelier in the living or dining room! KEPLERO is a chandelier with unusual geometric shapes in painted steel with a velvety look and spherical ampoules in white etched glass.

Contours that have been carefully studied, symmetries that give character and form to that which nature created. The pursuit of unrivalled balance in the combination of materials so drastically different from one another, and yet paired so masterfully as to create exclusive pieces of furniture.

For the first time, the signature of the architect and designer Ferruccio Laviani encounters the Smania philosophy. A winning formula that is expressed in two elegant projects for the living area.

A new and distinguishable language that takes advantage of the handcrafted culture and the meticulous attention to detail, which has always been the prerogative of the brand.

Versatile proposals that proudly enter into the Smania catalogue, enriching the range dedicated to the luxury living room.

The Charme series, composed of a sofa and armchair, masterfully embodies the concept of balance between classic and modern, versatile aesthetic solutions that profoundly distinguish the Smania identity.

The structure brings to mind the historical “hunting” model, considered the original prototype of a sofa when it made its first appearance at the start of the seventeenth century in the Knole House, historic English country residence located in Kent. A contemporary interpretation that makes linear and clean geometries the strong point for a fresh and essential design, which are in contrast with the soft volumes of the seating that offer an enveloping support.

The design of the Charlotte sofa is expressed through large-volume cushions that discreetly conceal the structure. The highlighted seams are another valuable design element. A luxury solution that emerges in the careful attention to detail, from the leather-covered feet to the elements in steel.

Once again, this Made in Italy excellence is born from the union of passion and bold aesthetic taste, which can be customised in the upholstery and finishes.

SMANIA NEST

SMANIA expands its furnishing proposal at Salone del Mobile 2019 by designing an entire collection in collaboration with Giuseppe Viganò / Studio Viganò. Animating Smania Nest is a very dynamic vision of living, which explores the relationship between man and nature.

It is a dreamy interpretation of contemporary living, which is expressed through an eclectic and fascinating design, perfectly in line with the classic and modern taste of the brand.

Smania Nest by Giuseppe Viganò | Salone del Mobile 2019

The name itself, Nest, is inspired by the attitudes of the collection, designed to convey, through importance of nature and the beneficial influence it has on the person, both physically and psychologically. Smania Nest was born as an innovative response to this need, combining originality and versatility.

The new collection delineates, with its products and its moods, an unprecedented osmotic balance between interior and exterior, between the desire for freedom and the security of a comfortable shelter. From the apartment in the city to the country villa, from the veranda to the winter garden: these are perfect furnishings for living in the spaces that are dearest to us, without defined limits.

Cyclically, a renewed interest in Art Déco influences the interior of the most glamorous residences. Combining and dosing the characteristic elements is the most elegant way to make a nod at the decorative arts without falling into nostalgic effects: saturated colours, refined materials, geometric and compact shapes alternate with ornamental lines in balanced combinations.

Among the must-haves of Art Déco luxury furniture, tables and end tables with chrome legs. The elegant contrast between the splendour of the metal and the soft light of the wood in the Rodrigo table is an example of the perfect equilibrium between edges and curves. Shapes and materials come together in an exclusive look.

A distinctive feature of the Felipe small table is the geometric pattern of the wooden top that combines with the warm light of burnished steel.

The perfect reinterpretation of the Art Déco armchair is Dorothy, a symmetry of full and empty spaces that translates into a harmony of materials. Wood, metal, leather and fabric: each one contributes to rendering Dorothy refined, ideal for classic and modern living rooms with its steel armrests and wooden base.

Table and wall lamps allow one to add a less demanding touch of Art Déco, without setting off balance the entire furnishing look. The reflections of the metal enhance the brightness of Ida, the lamp with unusual lines and a strong aesthetic impact that is a clear reference to African taste.

In fact, since the 1930s, the fashion of travel has begun to spread, bringing elements borrowed from the safari into the home: animal prints and decorative objects with an exotic taste.

The set of K paintings, with characteristic gold textured brushstrokes is a reminder of the colonial atmospheres while the precious gold patina of the Tiki ceramic column enchants and seduces, making one dream of faraway places.

The Great Gatsby teaches: in the Art Déco interior a mobile bar cannot be missing, promise of sparkling evenings. Refined materials and excellent workmanship are the signature of Harrys, metal and wood are once again married, with solid spaces and geometric forms recreated thanks to the solid forms and geometries recreated thanks to the technique of veneer inlay.

White is much more than a trend shade, it is the neutral hue par excellence. It can be chosen as a starting point for the creation of a colour palette capable of creating intimate and relaxing atmospheres.

A choice of design that adapts to any type of style, from classic to modern interiors, just like the Cloe sofa with its soft padding enclosed between horizontal and diagonal lines, hand stitched by Smania’s artisans: sophisticated shapes that invite you to relax.

The polished brightness of marble takes pride of place in the luxury living room through the play of lines and edges of the Moon table. Perfect harmony to be pursued for the brightest furnishing solutions.

The timeless appeal of a modern fluffy rug, perfect for the coldest months, never declines: Blanco, with its snow-white surface, is soft thanks to the Antea yarn that combines wool with viscose and recalls the allure of velvet.

The perfect solution to “light up” the environment with glamour, silver is a guarantee of luxury and elegance. The balance between small details and furnishings is the key to illuminating the winter season. A metal no longer exclusively reserved for festive decorations. Silver accessories are perfect to add a touch of refinement to the house with unexpected glares.

Outstanding lighting fixtures for interiors, the Bastet collection features a sinuous and graceful structure dressed with a lustred finish that makes it look radiant even when switched off.

The glares are precious witnesses of a shining elegance in Talia, the tray that gives light to the luxury furniture combining the classic and modern style.

Round reflections chase each other on the perfect spherical surface of Bowl, a decorative object of great value.

White and silver transform the house into a neutral canvas to be personalized with the creative flair of those who inhabit it.

A cosy and welcoming living room where conviviality meets relax and that “feeling good together” sensation. A marvelous Chevron rug in natural fur is the perfect setting for luxury and sophisticated furniture pieces: the comfortable and spacious Edward sofa, the Sir Alex armchairs with the classic button-padded motif of the backrest, the sinuous Cornelia upholstered armchairs and the Moon coffee tables. The round one, in wood with a precious marble top, is embellished with steel details, while the square one is dressed in leather. Two Ida floor lamps in wood and metal complete the picture and bring an intimate light.

The night of New Year’s Eve is rich in magic. Family and friends share a cheerful, lively atmosphere to look at the future with optimism.

Beautiful and welcoming “holiday homes”, in which the Christmas tree, the decorations, and the ornaments combine with Smania’s luxury décor in the two colour tones chosen for the occasion: the colour gold, a classic par excellence, which recalls regal splendour, a captivating and important colour that has always been associated with the concept of celebration, is joined by blue, a colour usually reserved for Spring, but which becomes a protagonist of Smania’s décor, creating a more chic, sophisticated, and modern environment.

Spending Christmas at home with our loved ones is part of our tradition, and thus the home becomes a more intimate and special place in which to host family and friends.

The rounded and graceful lines of Kosmo, a set of three small ceramic tables with a polished gold finish, accompany the delightful Miami armchair upholstered in intense blue velvet; the Gatsby, with its distinct and embracing character upholstered in marvellous blue fabric, is set alongside the Iride table with its Azul Marcaubaus marble top, a table with quartzite crystals that create abstract designs ranging from blue to azure to gold. Teseo, a sophisticated decorated mirror, acts as a frame, photographing and brilliantly reflecting the beauty of Christmas.

To enliven Christmas lunch and make the table even more picturesque, rich, and radiant, Smania proposes its exclusive Jersey ceramic under-plates, characterised by gold lines, and the modern Bubble vases that illuminate the space with golden highlights.

Sitting at the table until late into the afternoon, exchanging presents, singing Christmas carols, and taking funny selfies is even more pleasant when surrounded by Smania’s classic and modern luxury décor.
