March 1st is the day of Italian design! The Italian Design Day aims to highlight the excellence and peculiarities of Italian design in the world and this year has reached its second edition. Among the ambassadors there is also Massimo Iosa Ghini, the architect who designed the new Smania products that will be showcased at Salone del Mobile 2018.
The Italian Design Day is a project of international promotion of the excellence of Italian design, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities and Tourism, the Milan Triennale, ICE Agency, the Milan, the Association for Industrial Design, the Compasso d’Oro Foundation and the Altagamma Foundation.
This year’s edition is dedicated to the relationship between design and sustainability, understood as economic, social and environmental, and will be celebrated in many cities around the world. From New Delhi to Algiers, from Barcelona to Dubai, today in over 100 cities around the world, 100 ambassadors of Italian culture – architects, designers, entrepreneurs, journalists, critics, communicators, educators – will discuss the relationship between design and sustainability.
On the occasion of the second edition of the Italian Design Day, Iosa Ghini, is called to represent the excellence of the design sector at the Italian Institute of Culture in London on March 7 at 18.30.
In this conference, architect Massimo Iosa Ghini, of the Iosa Ghini Associati studio, will discuss “The beauty of sustainability”, the humanistic idea of the typical project of the Made in Italy tradition, attentive to the technical, but also cultural, needs of man, that combines the techniques of energy saving and integration with the environment without losing sight of the expression of an aesthetic opinion, a character, a style.
